Every Monday afternoon from 4.00 – 6.00pm Teach Me hosts a Kid’s Club where youngsters can come a learn a new art or craft. Topics include chocolate making, cake decorating, mosaics, painting and even creative science projects. Cost is just £10.00 for two hours and includes all materials, tools and refreshments.
Unusually, the most recent Teach Me stained glass class was an all male affair. Each person managed to complete a stained glass panel in spite of never having so much as cut a piece of glass before! They learned about the stained glass process, including stretching the lead, cementing and of course cutting the glass.
Members of the Romney Day Centre visited Teach Me’s studio in New Romney and learned to make decorated easter eggs. At a painting course hosted by Teach Me at the New Romney Day Centre, participants came up with some striking abstract artworks. Painted using acrylics on canvas, the works displayed interesting use of complementary colours and a variety of textures.
