Come along and join in our relaxed, friendly print making class and learn how to use traditional lino cutting techniques to create your own unique printing block.
A variety of workshops and drop in sessions are available including:
Beginners – Introduction to Linocut
Lino cut reduction process – same piece of lino, cut twice, to create a 2 colour print
Drop in sessions – For students who have attended a previous introductory session
Feel free to bring your own project ideas but don’t worry as there will be lots of inspiration and ideas provided during the session.
All materials are provided, including lino blocks, cutting tools, inks, rollers and papers.
You’ll be shown how to adapt your own design so it’s suitable for print, how to use the cutting tools to make a variety of marks and textures, how to ink, masking, registration and printing.
Create a series of prints for framing or create a set of cards. Beginners will learn the basics of lino cut and design and complete at least one series of prints. Those with a little more experience will be able to produce a more intricate work, with the possibility of using more than one colour. You will be able to develop at your own pace with plenty of interaction with your tutor
Tea, cakes and biscuits provided – lunch included if day session
Due to the nature of the tools used for this process this class is only suitable for adults.
