Our Projects
You might not know but here at Teach Me Courses, we collaborate on projects outside of our company. Yolanda Houston, our owner and creative genius has participated in many external projects. This page is dedicated to showcasing some of those projects that provide creative excellence but also serve our local communities in many cases.

New Romney Obelisk
The New Romney Obelisk (Town Identifier) was officially unveiled by Mayor John Rivers on 23rd November 2024. Over 400 participants contributed to this remarkable project, including local schools, cub groups, public workshop attendees, and finished by the talented team from Teach Me Courses. The metal structure was masterfully completed by blacksmith Sam Briggs, creating a visually stunning historical monument that celebrates the town’s heritage. Located opposite St Nicolas’s Church, the obelisk is a symbol for both visitors and townsfolk to admire. Make sure to come and see this impressive addition to New Romney!
The Marsh Mosaics
In 2021, the Romney Marsh Community created The Marsh Mosaics – a series of 14 beautiful new artworks, capturing the Marsh Churches and celebrating the unique heritage and wildlife of our area. Part of the Fifth Continent Landscape Partnership Scheme and funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, the project involved 391 local participants aged 5 – 90, all guided by our very own Yolanda Houston.
The project was a complete success and we wanted to have a timeless reminder of just what our communities can create when we come together.
Below are the pictures of our finished work.
