Teach Me Courses Supports Marsh Mosaics

On 21st August ten Marsh Mosaics were unveiled at an event at St Nicholas’s church in New Romney. The event included performances of new musical work performed by the 12 Ensemble and London Contemporary Voices. A dance piece created with Folkestone Dance and a community singing piece will also be performed.

Visitors first completed mosaic coasters to familiarise themselves with mosaic techniques. They then went on to fit tiles into the main mosaic.

Ten large mosaics have been orchestrated by Teach Me Courses under the auspices of the Fifth Continent and the Kent Wildlife Trust. Each mosaic represents one of ten churches found on Romney Marsh and each has been made either in each church or near to them. Schools and cub packs have also been involved in the project.
