Teach Me is to install 17 mosaic panels onto the bandstand in Oaklands Park, Hythe, between now and the summer of 2024. The theme of the installation is Fisherman’s Beach and the mosaics will feature scenes to tell about Fisherman’s Beach and its history.
The project is a community one and the public has been invited to submit ideas and designs for the 17 panels. The public will also be invited to contribute to making the mosaics under the supervision of Teach Me’s team of mosaic artists.
It is anticipated that once complete, the bandstand will be formally opened in the Summer of 2024 with a live band and stalls to make a lively public picnic event.
Details of the sessions have now been announced. All sessions will start from the 13th of June 2023 and take place at the Age UK Centre, Stade Street in Hythe which is next to the public library.
