Teach Me’s Yolanda Houston collected from New Romney Mayor, Paul Thomas, the award for individual service to the town on Wednesday 26 April at the Assembly Rooms.
The award recognises Yolanda’s engagement with the local community and her bringing people together through art and craft activities. She was said to “Bring joy and a sense of pride to all who participate, and she inspires so many people”.
Through Teach Me, Yolanda orchestrates projects with cubs, brownies, beavers, Mind, local care homes, Age UK and local schools – all free of charge.
