Our Romney Flock Heritage Days in Lydd and New Romney were full of wool, colour, creativity and some very characterful sheep!
Across the two days, visitors created their own wool sheep to take home using Romney wool. Some were traditional, some were bright and colourful, and some developed very definite personalities of their own. No two were quite the same, which made seeing the flock grow throughout the sessions even more fun.
The Heritage Days were also a chance to share more about the wider Romney Flock project. We’re now busy working on the eight larger sheep sculptures, each inspired by its final location. Once complete, they’ll form a trail across Hythe and New Romney.
A huge thank you to everyone who came along, got creative, shared ideas and helped make the days such a success. It was fantastic to see so many people of all ages getting involved and adding their own little piece to the project.
Next stop: the big sheep! We’ll be sharing details of the official Romney Flock opening event very soon.
