Teach Me hosted an amazing stained glass panel workshop on Sunday 9 February at its studios at Cockreed Lane. Five participants created stunning leaded light panels in a single session.
Three people brought their own designs to work from, the other two preferring to adopt Teach Me’s drawings.
Each piece of glass was cut – the students had never cut glass before – then fitted together using lead Cames. The lead joints were then soldered using electric irons, before being cemented into the lead strips. Finally, the lead was darkened with a blacking paste- all very mucky, but also rewarding.
The finale to the day was a luscious cream tea, before bidding farewell
